Iron Lung#

In the horror game Iron Lung, the gameplay is structured around completing scans of the seabed from your submarine at various locations at a map. Getting to each place takes a few minutes and has very little chance of actually reaching the fail state of crashing the ship but makes the player stressed by putting their ship in claustrophobic positions. The world is scripted to activate various events at certain locations or milestones such as pushing your ship around or spawning a giant fish right outside your submarine. This structure for a horror narrative could be used in my game. The game has successful use of tension by giving the player long stretches of nothing but also a lack of information as to when the next scare may happen.
